Biography

Brennan M. Wingerter currently serves as the Director of the Appellate Division for the Tennessee District Public Defenders Conference. She graduated with high honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board, the Tennessee Journal of Race, Gender & Social Justice, and the Center for Advocacy & Dispute Resolution. After law school, she served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Gary R. Wade on the Tennessee Supreme Court. Before joining the Public Defenders Conference, she founded a regional appellate law firm and was a full-time law professor whose teaching focused on legal writing, appellate advocacy, experiential learning, and academic success.
