William F. Clayton is a Member of the firm Woolf, McClane, Bright, Allen & Carpenter. His practice is focused primarily on construction litigation and general commercial litigation. These areas of practice include representing owners, contractors, and subcontractors in the negotiation of contracts and the resolution of disputes involving the breach of government and private contracts, delay claims, differing site conditions, lien claims, and licensing disputes. Mr. Clayton also has experience handling claims involving violations of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, fraud, workers compensation defense, personal injury, insurance coverage disputes, and representation of owners and management companies in fair housing disputes. Mr. Clayton regularly speaks on issues of importance to the construction industry and is a co-author of the Tennessee Section of BUSINESS TORTS, A FIFTY STATE GUIDE. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in The University of Tennessee Construction Science Program, where he teaches construction law. He also serves as the chair of the Executive Council of the Tennessee Bar Association Litigation Section.
