Hayley Hovious joined the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development’s International Division in November 2012 to develop and manage the state’s new export initiative which seeks to increase exports from Tennessee’s small and medium size businesses. Prior to joining ECD, Hayley worked in technology startups in the Nashville area and was a brand manager in the consumer packaged goods industry in California for both Mattel and E.J.Gallo Winery. While at E.J.Gallo, she oversaw the re-branding of Hornsby’s Cider and launched the Madria Sangria brand nationwide.
Hayley graduated cum laude from Smith College in Northampton, MA with B.A. in Comparative Religion and Biblical Literature and received her MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management where she was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. While at Vanderbilt, she was the curriculum chair for the 2007 Net Impact Conference which brought together nearly 2000 student and professional leaders for two days focused on creating positive social and environmental change in the workplace and the world. She serves on the board of Middle Tennessee Books from Birth and is in the current class of Nashville Emerging Leaders.
