Shannon Jordan has served as the licensed medical social worker for the Shade Tree Clinic with Vanderbilt School of Medicine and the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital since in 2008. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Samford University in 2000 and earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2005. She began her social work career at Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee, where she worked from 2003-2008 as Parent Pathway coordinator and Parent Helpline Counselor. She currently splits her time serving patients at Shade Tree and serving families at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. She works closely to help serve patients and families by provide counseling, resources and referrals, and trains the medical student volunteers who work on the Shade Tree Social Work team. Shannon works closely with the Medical Legal Partnership to help students at the Shade Tree Clinic identify patients with legal needs and barriers to care.
