Faculty Profile: J. Christopher Coffman

Chris is a member in the Louisville and Nashville offices of Frost Brown Todd LLC. His practice concentrates on tax planning and civil tax audits and controversies. Chris has represented clients in administrative proceedings before local and state taxing authorities and the Internal Revenue Service. In addition, he has represented clients before the United States Tax Court.

 

Chris helps lead Frost Brown Todd’s multi-disciplinary Opportunity Zone Service team. He has been recognized as a thought leader in this developing area of law, counseling business, community, and state leaders across the firm’s multi-state footprint. Chris has advised business owners, developers, fund managers, and governmental entities in all stages of an Opportunity Zone investment. Currently, Frost Brown Todd’s Opportunity Zone Service team is involved in Opportunity Zone development projects and investments totaling more than $250 million. Christopher earned his B.A. from Lipscomb University, cum laude (1998), and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School (2001).
