Faculty Profile: Steven Gaches

Steve Gaches is the Managing Principal – Sports and Entertainment at EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, a specialty insurance division of Galway. In this role, Steve helps lead a team of former industry executives to provide risk management advice and solutions to promoters, touring musicians, venues, songwriters, publishing companies, record labels, merchandise and other ancillary companies, sports teams and leagues, professional athletes, and high net-worth individuals. Prior to joining EPIC, Steve was the Worldwide Head of Music Business and Legal Affairs at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment (“WME”), a leading global entertainment agency. WME represents artists and content creators across books, digital media, film, food, music, television, and theater and is part of the Endeavor Network. In this role, he managed a worldwide team of attorneys and agents in the live music and estate representation business across music genres and legal regimes, and collaborated with business and legal partners internally and externally to further client and talent goals (including contract negotiations, compliance, finance, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, music licensing and intellectual property, and immigration). Gaches regularly advises on various aspects of the agency’s global business practice, setting standards in emerging markets and helping to ensure compliance, efficiency, and consistency.
 
Prior to joining WME, Gaches worked at King and Ballow in their Entertainment Litigation group. He also spent time at the Federal Communications Commission, United States Copyright Office, and BET Networks.
 
In addition to his work at WME, Gaches volunteers his time to The Arc of Davidson County, the Tennessee Bar Association, IEBA, and is an alumnus of GRAMMY Next. Additionally, he participates in the annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, a global motorcycle charity ride to raise awareness for men’s health issues. He is an alumnus of the University of Maryland and received his JD at the University of Baltimore. A native of Annapolis, Maryland, Gaches currently resides just outside Nashville with his wife, two daughters, and their cavapoo.
