Biography

Courtney Leyes is a partner in Fisher Phillips’ Nashville, Memphis, and Gulfport offices and a core member of the firm’s national Wage and Hour Practice Group. She represents employers across the country in the full spectrum of wage and hour matters, with deep experience advising companies in industries such as hospitality, retail, automotive, and manufacturing.

Courtney regularly counsels employers on complex and high‑risk wage and hour issues — including automatic meal‑break deductions, rounding practices, donning and doffing, off‑the‑clock work, travel time, regular‑rate calculations, exemptions, and multi‑state compliance challenges. She partners closely with HR teams and in‑house counsel to conduct proactive audits, develop compliant policies, and implement practical solutions that reduce exposure and strengthen operational practices.

A seasoned litigator, Courtney has represented employers in nearly 100 wage and hour lawsuits, including collective and class actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state law. She is known for her strategic approach to litigation — balancing risk, business priorities, and reputational considerations — and has secured favorable outcomes ranging from early dismissals to efficient resolutions to full defense verdicts.
