Faculty Profile: Joan Davis

Joan  Davis is a partner with Schroder Davis PLC in Richmond, Virginia. Joan has over twenty year’s experience in the Fashion and Modeling industries. Prior to private practice, Joan was a law clerk to the Virginia Supreme Court’s former Chief Justice, Harry L. Carrico.  Joan’s diverse fashion clients include emerging and seasoned fashion designers, jewelry designers, boutiques, fashion models and parents of child entertainers. Joan has  a 15 year old daughter who has been a model featured in national campaign ads since she was 2 years old. Joan knows the in and outs of the modeling industry.  She is an active member and supporter of the Model Alliance in New York and frequently advises models and parents of child models of the issues involved in the industry.  Joan was featured with her daughter as a guest on The Katie Couric Show.  The episode high-lighted the difficulties child fashion models encounter in the industry and the necessity of New York’s Child Model law and parental involvement in their children’s careers.
