Grant Monroe currently serves as an Assistant Chief Counsel with the Office of Principal Legal Advisor, New Orleans, in the Memphis, Tennessee office. OPLA serves as the exclusive representative of the Department of Homeland Security in immigration removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, litigating all removal cases. Prior to this position, Monroe worked at a private immigration firm in Memphis, Tennessee where he focused his practice primarily on removal defense. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin (B.S., Political Science and History), The University of Memphis (M.A., Political Science), and The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. In addition to his position at OPLA, he serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Political Science with the University of Tennessee at Martin, College of Business and Global Affairs.
