Faculty Profile: Carolyn Smith

Carolyn K. Smith, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Department of Veteran Affairs

Carolyn K. Smith grew up in West Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. She went to Undergrad at West Virginia University and Graduate school for Master of Science in Social Work at University of Tennessee. She currently works at Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Department of Veteran Affairs as a Transition & Care Management Social Work Case Manager. She has experience working with and researching the geriatric population; she previously worked with the Geriatric Primary Care Clinic, and conducted two research studies about Social Work involvement and intervention in Geriatric patients and families. She is a published author of two journal articles. She collaborated with Dr. James Powers, TN Elder Law and Life-Links Care Management and Advocacy a text book chapter about ‘Critical Documents Associated with Aging.
