Biography

As Senior Director, Marketing and Digital for the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness, Chobanian leads the foundation’s branding and awareness campaigns, digital product development, and direct engagement efforts. Accordingly, he focuses the work of suppliers and contracted professional firms while actively managing the marketing plan, media mix and budget.

Formerly, as Director of Strategic Marketing & Innovation for Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, Chobanian conceptualized and developed innovative online and offline strategies aimed at making government more efficient, effective and accessible. His efforts did not go unnoticed; TN.gov was named the number one state website in the country by the Center for Digital Government under his leadership. In addition to his steadfast focus on improving the state’s brand, Chobanian worked closely with the State of Tennessee’s information technology and business leaders on a variety of large-scale, mission-critical projects.

Prior to joining the State of Tennessee, Chobanian led Haslam's e-campaign and information technology efforts during Tennessee's first gubernatorial race to widely utilize new media tools and targeted online advertising. Before focusing his efforts on public service, Chobanian contributed to the success of a multinational corporation where he launched and represented several multi-billion dollar a year products.

Chobanian is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where he studied business administration with a major in marketing and collateral in finance. Chobanian serves on the boards of the Boy Scouts of America, Middle Tennessee Council, the Phoenix Club of Nashville, and the W.O. Smith Music School. He and his wife, Juliet, reside in Nashville.
