Faculty Profile: Marco Scanu

Since 2004, Mr. Scanu has been writing customized and effective business plans used for raising capital and immigration purposes. Drawing from his own experience as an immigrant and recipient of an O-1 visa[1] in entrepreneurship and management of entrepreneurial ventures, Mr. Scanu has established himself as a successful consultant and business plan writer with international experience assisting clients across Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America and the United States.

Mr. Scanu is a business and executive coach with a globally-based practice coaching Fortune 1000 company executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals in 4 different countries and 10 different professions. He is a results-oriented consultant concentrating on effective strategic execution and management in high-growth companies. Mr. Scanu was Honorary Consul of the Republic of Italy (2001-2004) and is fluent in Spanish, Italian and English, and conversationally fluent in Portuguese.

In addition to having served as a judge for world renowned business plan competitions and programs such as Start-up Chile, Start-up Peru, Intel® Global Challenge, and The FIU Pino Shark Tank, Mr. Scanu has been an invited speaker in national and international events and has been a panelist at several immigration CLE events and conferences. He has also been a workshop facilitator and invited professor in 4 universities in the areas of franchise growth, entrepreneurship and management of entrepreneurial ventures. He currently serves as a Venture Coach at the University of Miami’s Launch Pad program (www.thelaunchpad.org).

Mr. Scanu has served on several Boards of Directors, including the Board of Directors of the International Coach Federation/South Florida chapter. He is a member of the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board at The School of Hospitality Business - Michigan State University and also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center at Florida International University.

Mr. Scanu is also a chevalier of La Chaine des Rotisseurs, the oldest and largest food & wine society in the world.

One of the companies he led received outstanding awards backed by McKinsey and Arthur D. Little, thus becoming a success case study in business schools.

Education

 

Marco Scanu received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Cum Laude) from the University of Florida and an MBA in Management from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Mr. Scanu was also a Visiting Scholar at Michigan State University under the prestigious H. Humphrey Fellowship (Fulbright program) with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and high-growth enterprises. Mr. Scanu is a certified coach from the University of Miami.
