Biography

Lou Nave earned her BS in Animal Science from Middle Tennessee State University. She has worked in agricultural marketing for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumers Services, and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association. Lou has served as the Executive Director for the Farm Animal Care Coalition of Tennessee (FACCT) since December 2011. FACCT is a nonprofit serving as a unified voice for humane livestock care, well-being issues and best management practices in Tennessee agriculture. FACCT is proactive in education for producers, consumers, and policy makers.  FACCT is supported by Tennessee’s agriculture community, with all agricultural organizations represented on the FACCT board. Lou is active in the agriculture community.  She is an active member of Tennessee Farm Bureau, serving at state and county levels. She is a member of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association, Tennessee Sheep Producers Association, Tennessee Club Lamb Producers Association and Tennessee FFA Alumni. She works with all segments of the animal agriculture community promoting livestock care. She is committed to protecting and promoting the animal agriculture industry. A sixth generation livestock producer, Lou and her family own and operate their family farm near Woodbury, TN, raising beef cattle, market lambs and Tennessee Walking Horses.
