Faculty Profile: Robert Aicher

Robert Aicherisa retired partner of Sidley Austin LLP where he concentrated in derivatives and structured finance. He is currently working as part of the founding team of ZeekBeek.com, an interactive, computerized attorney advertising service owned by CloudLaw, Inc. Mr. Aicher graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. degree in Political Science, and holds a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. Mr. Aicher practiced in finance and bankruptcy law from the time of his original licensing as a lawyer in 1976. From 1998 to 2011 he concentrated his efforts on the convergence of the insurance, banking and investment banking industries with a particular emphasis on the finance and derivatives components of such convergence. He has extensive experience in structuring transactions as counsel to banks and insurers providing credit and liquidity support for both publicly offered and privately placed debt in municipal, health care, asset backed securitization and project financings.
