Faculty Profile: Luke Sharara

Mr. Sharara is an honors graduate of the American University in Cairo, Egypt, earning a Master of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management. He earned his Master of Science degree in 2001 and his Bachelor of Science degree in 1997. He is a registered professional engineer in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. His superior academic performance was followed by years of project management in both residential and commercial industries, taking projects from the schematic design phase to construction completion. He has designed structures utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. He is also experienced in project management and scheduling, contract administration, construction engineering, field investigation, cost estimation, project budgeting, and cost control. He has designed and supervised the construction of banks, medical clinics, retail stores, and large residential projects. He also has experience in the design and supervision of residential subdivision development, including storm drainage, water distribution, and wastewater collection. Mr. Sharara applies his experience in construction, project management, design, scheduling, and structural engineering to property cases brought to us by our clients.

Mr. Sharara is experienced in the evaluation of structures for moisture/water intrusion, construction defects, structural engineering analysis, building envelope failures, concrete and masonry cracking, and retaining wall failures. He has investigated flooring failures, building settlements, and building collapses. He has evaluated structures for wind, hail, fire, hurricane, tornado, flooding, vibration blasting, construction equipment vibrations, and earthquake damage. Mr. Sharara also has experience in the assessment of historic buildings. He has also performed numerous premises liability evaluations and building code analyses. He has performed investigations to identify sinkhole activity and to determine the extent of the damage of structures underlain by sinkholes.
