BiographyBeth Pitman’s experience as general counsel and corporate counsel at a healthcare information technology company is a valuable asset for healthcare providers who appreciate her insight into healthcare information technology and HIPAA privacy and data security matters. Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Beth advises hospitals and healthcare systems, physician groups, outpatient services providers and HIT companies on HIPAA compliance, data security and technology licensing matters. Beth’s experience includes the development and ongoing management of comprehensive HIPAA compliance programs, drafting and negotiating business associate agreements, developing internal policies and workforce training modules for patient privacy and data security. Her HIT-specific experience includes the drafting and negotiation of software licensing and services agreements and interoperability licenses and services, including data liquidity/data use contracts. She also has experience working with not-for-profit, community-based healthcare organizations, including federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), and advising clients on the changes associated with the many federal healthcare payment and incentive programs.
In addition to her HIPAA and HIT experience, Beth advises executive management teams on corporate governance issues and general legal matters. Beth provided counsel on and managed strategic transactions involving the acquisitions of healthcare technology, and revenue cycle management and physician management services companies.
