Biography

Focused on combining her passions for the law and animal advocacy, she currently serves as the Chair of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Animal Law Section and sits on the American Bar Association’s Companion Animal subcommittee. In these roles, she is witness to the growing need for high-quality, affordable legal services for matters that affect the rights, lives and welfare of animals.

Before focusing on animal law, Jessica has close to 20 years of diverse experience working with several major insurance carriers. She focused on commercial insurance but has extensive experience in all roles and all lines- especially coverage, risk management, and claims. During those two decades, she assisted with real-time tragedy as a catastrophe claims adjuster, completed detailed risk management inspections to help businesses minimize losses, combated insurance fraud, and even became a licensed P&C insurance agent. Jessica combines this experience to now help educate others on proactive measures to ensure all risks have been considered and minimized by appropriate insurance coverage, well-drafted contracts and risk management resources to further minimize exposure. As a trained mediator and arbitrator, an amicable resolution is her main goal to help minimize both the client’s and the court’s resources. She also knows the secrets behind how insurance carriers value claims and uses that to her client's advantage to get them the settlement they deserve.

Jessica grew up in Tell City, Indiana but has lived in the Nashville area for close to 20 years. She received her Bachelor's in Pre-law/Criminal Justice from Ball State University and her law degree from Nashville School of Law in 2017.
