Senator Todd Gardenhire was first elected to the State Senate in 2012 representing parts of Hamilton and Bradley Counties. He was re-elected in 2016. He currently is a member of the Senate Finance Ways & Means Committee and serves on it’s sub-committee of Pension & Insurance. He was elected by his colleagues in the Senate to be the Senate Chair of the Fascial Review Committee. He also is a member of the Judiciary and State & Local Committee’s where he is Second Vice Chair.
After 43 years in the Financial Service Industry, Senator Gardenhire retired on March 31, 2016 from Morgan Stanley as a Senior Vice President. During his time as a Financial Consultant, he had the designation of a Municipal Bond Professional and a Certified Portfolio Manager.
During Senator Gardenhire’s career, he was appointed to the U. S. Department of Labor’s ERISA Advisory Council by the Secretary of Labor two different times; once as a representative of the Investment Counseling Representative and again as the Investment Management Representative being named Chair in 2005. In 2006, President George W. Bush appointed him to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp and in 2007; and President Bush, by executive Orde,r named him Chair of the PBGC.
