Barry B. White graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in marketing/management in 1972 and from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1976. After graduating from Law School in 1976, he accepted a position as Assistant District Attorney General for Lincoln, Bedford, Moore and Marshall Counties. He worked as an Assistant D.A. until 1981 when he began private practice in Lewisburg, TN.
He practiced in the City, General Sessions, Circuit and Chancery Courts in counties throughout Middle Tennessee. He has also practiced extensively in the Tennessee Court of Civil Appeals, the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and the Supreme Court of Tennessee. He has served as a member of the House of Delegates to the Tennessee Bar Association, is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Marshall County Bar Association and the Maury County Bar Association.
Mr. White has been active in many civic affairs, clubs and projects. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club and has served on the board of directors of the Marshall County Child Development Center. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce and the Marshall County Community Theater. He has been a Community Helper" in the kindergarten, read to middle school children and lectured to high school civics classes. Additionally, he is Chairman of the advisory board of Marshall Medical Center, a division of Maury Regional hospital. Mr. White is on the Tennessee Bankers Association Government Relations Committee.
Mr. White is Vice Chairman of the Columbia State Community College Foundation. He also has taught Business Law at Columbia State as a part time professor. He has served on the J.R. Moon Foundation Golf Committee since its inception. This golf tournament raises money for scholarships for Marshall County students to attend Columbia State.
