Biography

Joe Shelton is the Regional Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips’ Nashville office. His practice focuses on litigation of employee defection issues (e.g., trade secrets and restrictive covenants) as well as the defense of employment discrimination claims.  Joe frequently advises employers on all aspects of state and federal employment laws, and he assists employers in drafting employment agreements, restrictive covenants, personnel policies, and separation agreements.

Joe earned his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1995 (graduating magna cum laude).  He received his Bachelor of Arts from Oglethorpe University (Atlanta, GA) in 1991.  He is a member of the bars in Tennessee and Georgia. 
Joe is "AV" Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2018.  Joe previously practiced in Atlanta and has been selected for inclusion in Georgia Super Lawyer for over a decade.
