Biography

Jan Walden has practiced family law for the past 35 years. She has been a pioneer of both the mediation and collaborative law movements and focuses on guiding clients to the best possible legal outcome while avoiding the high emotional and financial cost of adversarial court battles. She offers clients the option of early intervention mediation, collaborative divorce (when appropriate) and uncontested divorce, in an effort to preserve family assets and create the best possible parenting plan for children after divorce. Jan offers her skills and training as a professional family mediator with over 20 years experience for post divorce issues such as scheduling and child support. She meets with never married parents for the first hour at no charge. Clients always have the opportunity to consult with an attorney before implementing agreements reached in mediation. The mediation process offers parents the option of working together to modify or create parenting plans in a safe problem-solving environment while eliminating court hearings and costly legal fees.
