Faculty Profile: Louis Bernsen

Louis joined Patrick, Beard, Schulman & Jacoway as an Associate Attorney in 2024 after practicing in Memphis for over two years. He practices primarily litigation in business and commercial, construction, real estate litigation, and tort disputes. Louis is licensed in Tennessee and Georgia. Louis previously served as a summer law clerk for the Tennessee Attorney General’s office in Memphis, as well as a legal intern in the U.S. Attorney’s office. He received a B.A. from the University of Memphis, and a J.D. from The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, graduating cum laude. A committed sports fan, Louis follows the Tennessee Vols, Memphis Grizzlies, and Chicago Bears, and enjoys traveling and going to movies with his wife, Jodi.
