Biography

Jamaal R. Jones, Sr. is the Principal Attorney at Jones Health Law P.A. where he represents healthcare practitioners and facilities in healthcare transactions, regulatory compliance, and licensing matters. 

Jamaal has also represented large health systems in reimbursement and contract disputes against the nation’s largest private healthcare insurers. 

Jamaal is licensed to practice law in Florida, Tennessee, Washington D.C., and the United States Supreme Court.  He is the Vice Chair of Physician Organization Practice Group for the American Health Lawyer’s Association and the Immediate Past-Chair of the Health Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Jamaal Jones has a recurring column with Miami’s Community News and Inspire Health Magazine. He has been featured in and contributed scholarly articles for publications, such as Newsweek, Becker’s Hospital Review, and Attorney-At-Law Magazine to name a few. 

He is a member of American Bar Association (Health Law Section) and American Health Lawyers Association. He also has a YouTube page and Podcast aptly called “Jones Health Law” where he discusses healthcare law issues and interviews healthcare practitioners. 

Jamaal has been a guest speaker at the Florida Department of Health and various universities and colleges, including FAMU, University of Florida, Florida State University, and Nova Southeastern University’s Health Profession Division. Jamaal teaches Health Law as an Adjunct Professor at University of Tennessee College of Law. 

Jamaal has been an honoree for Legacy Magazine’s 40 under 40 (2021), Brickell Magazine’s Top 20 Professionals under 40 (2023), and has became a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Healthcare Law in 2017. Jamaal received his J.D. with a concentration in Health Law form Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University.
