
Is recently retired from a long career with the State of Tennessee. During the first part of her career Godsey served as an Assistant Attorney General before moving to the Office of Inspector General Office in 2004. OIG was created in 2004 to investigate and prosecute TennCare fraud. Godsey served as Deputy Inspector General of the OIG Legal Division. While at OIG, Godsey was appointed as a Special District Attorney in Carroll County and prosecuted a TennCare fraud case involving estate recovery. During that same time, she worked closely with TennCare Office of General Counsel’s estate recovery attorneys. Next, Godsey moved to the Office of General Counsel for TennCare serving as a Deputy General Counsel for the division handling estate recovery, and administrative appeals with a concentration on CHOICES appeals. The last few years at TennCare , Godsey became an Administrator and Senior Counsel in TennCare’s Member Services -the Eligibility Appeals section. Currently, she is semi-retired, but consulting on TennCare matters.
Paula earned her BA in political science from Vanderbilt University and her law degree from University of Tennessee College of Law.
