Biography

Steve is a Rule 31 Listed Mediator in Tennessee. He has extensive experience resolving disputes in litigation, employment, insurance, and business matters of all kinds. He has participated in over 2000 mediations as an advocate and a mediator.

Steve is on the Executive Council of the Dispute Resolution Section of the Tennessee Bar Association, and is a member of the United States District Court, Middle District, Tennessee ADR Panel, Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, Association for Conflict Resolution, and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution.

Steve is on the Board of Advisors and the Adjunct Faculty of Lipscomb University`s Institute for Conflict Management, where he has taught mediation, negotiation, and conflict management since the inception of the program in 2006. He also coaches Rule 31 Mediator candidates.

Steve has over 400 hours of the dispute resolution training, including over 400 hours through the Executive Education Program at Harvard Law School, and over 100 hours through the programs at Pepperdine University's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.

In addition to spending over a decade in private law practice with an emphasis on litigation and dispute resolution, Steve formerly served as an Executive Vice President & General Counsel of Corrections Corporation America, now CoreCivic, and as Senior Vice President & General Counsel with SunTrust Bank.
