Biography

SARAH Y. SHEPPEARD is the 2019-2020 president of the Tennessee Bar Association. She is a shareholder with Lewis, Thomason, King, Krieg and Waldrop, PC. and is a past president of the Knoxville Bar Association. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was a member of the Tennessee Law Review. Sheppeard is a Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator. She has served the TBA in various roles, including as a member of the Board of Governors, committee chair and member, and was active in the Young Lawyers Division and president of the YLD Fellows. In 2010 she received the TBA President's Award for her role as Reporter to the Task Force on Judicial Conduct Rules. In 2014 she received the Knoxville Bar Association Governors' Award, which is that organization's highest honor. She frequently presents CLE programs. She practices in various civil areas, including family law, probate and estate and civil litigation.
