Faculty Profile: Alfred Smith Jr

Honorable Alfred Smith, Jr. serves as Administrative Law Judge for the Social Security Administration.  Prior to holding this position, he worked for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.  He worked for 30 years in the Unemployment Compensation Appeals Program as a Hearing Officer, Chief Hearing Officer, Director of Appeals, Staff Attorney and Deputy General Counsel.  He received his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, and his undergraduate at Vanderbilt University.
