Faculty Profile: Mark Norris

Mark S. Norris is a United States District Court Judge for the Western District of Tennessee. He is a graduate of Colorado College and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. A former Shelby County Commissioner and State Senator, Norris practiced law for 38 years before his appointment to the Court in 2018.
He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court In 2010. He is a Fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation, Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and Emeritus Master of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court.
A recipient of the 2015 Bobby Dunavant Public Servant Award, he has also been recognized by Who's Who in American Law, Mid-South Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.
