Biography

Matthew Drewes is a seasoned technology leader and innovator with over 25 years of experience driving impactful change across industries such as public safety, healthcare, retail, and banking. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, he excels at implementing technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and drive revenue growth. His expertise spans technology systems, software, infrastructure, IT service management, and project leadership, enabling him to bridge the gap between business and technology effectively.

Currently, Matthew serves as the Enterprise Business Solutions Architect for many of Tennessee’s public safety agencies, where he advances cross-functional IT solutions and champions technology modernization.  These agencies include Safety & Homeland Security (THP, Driver Services, THSO), Correction, TBI, TEMA, Military, Board of Parole, and Veterans Services. His leadership has driven cloud migration initiatives, enhanced operational efficiencies, and strengthened security across these organizations. Since 2020, he has also chaired Tennessee’s Integrated Criminal Justice Steering Committee, overseeing the State’s criminal justice information portal.

Previously, Matthew held roles at c3/consulting, leading transformation projects across healthcare, retail, and banking, and at M*Modal, where he oversaw corporate applications and ensured regulatory compliance while managing their ERP system for global operations. His early work as a consultant and entrepreneur laid a solid foundation for his successful career in technology and innovation.

A servant leader and effective communicator, Matthew fosters creative problem-solving and data-driven decision-making to achieve and execute strategic goals. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Vanderbilt University and received the Nashville Technology Council's Emerging Leader of the Year award in 2020.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Matthew has held leadership roles and contributed significant time to several neighborhood and nonprofit boards, is a living kidney donor, avid runner, and woodworking hobbyist.
