Robert is a native Tennessean, having been born and raised in West Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting and economics from Tennessee Tech, an MBA with specialization in accounting and finance from The University of Chicago, and a law degree from Duke University. He began his legal career in Houston, Texas, at Bracewell & Patterson, then relocated to the firm of Dearborn & Ewing in Nashville a year later. Since leaving Dearborn & Ewing, he has been a solo practitioner, with emphasis on real estate and bankruptcy law. In bankruptcy, he has filed Chapter 7 (liquidation), Chapter 13 (wage earner plans), and Chapter 11 (business reorganization) cases for clients over the last 20 plus years. In real estate, he has conducted thousands of closings and worked in most areas of real estate law, including litigation.
