Judge Daniel L. Smith attended the University of Tennessee, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1980 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1983. He has been a practicing attorney since 1983. In 1998, he was elected as the General Sessions and Juvenile Judge for Hardin County, and he has served in that position for nearly 25 years. During his career, he also served as the president of the General Sessions Judges Conference in 2008 and was awarded the Judge Leon Reuben Award in 2016. Judge Smith is married to Mrs. Martha Smith, and they have two children, Jacob and Abby.
