Federal Practice: Revisions to the Federal rules of Civil Procedure

Description:

The comments period for amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure ended in February and other changes went into effect for 2014. Mr. Carter will review Rules changes and how they will impact federal trial practice. Mr. Carter was involved with the TBA's attempt to create statewide local rules (2004-05), has served as Chairman of the Local Rules Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee (2009-2010) and, since the formation of the Standing Local Rules Committee in the Western District, has been its Chairman. He will share his perspectives and practice pointers on Rule changes and the role of Local Rules in federal court practice.
