A Year in Risk Management: The Road Map to a Better Practice Part 1

Properly established and efficient practice management processes and procedures can pay big dividends in protecting against malpractice claims and ethics complaints. Bulletproofing your practice in these small ways allows you to concentrate on your clients rather than the day-to-day operation of your firm. And while every lawyer wants effective systems, too often, the hardest part is developing a strategy of review and implementation for the law office operation. This program is for every lawyer who wants better procedures but lacks a road map for reaching a better practice. In Part 1 test your knowledge in the latest hot topics in legal malpractice and ethics, and what you need to know to protect yourself from novel malpractice risks and ethics complaints.

Excellent presentation!

Liked the fact that the presentation was heavy on substantive rulings and case law.

Most helpful part was cyber security and confidential information. Also, was not aware that helping with referrals can get a lawyer into ethical trouble.

Information regarding "cyber-duties" and holding monies is always useful information, even if it is just a refresher.

I enjoyed the discussion of the specific examples of where lawyers could run into trouble, not because they don't know their subject, but because they don't pay sufficient attention to some of the technical aspects of maintaining their practices, including all of the more recent electronically related issues such as email.

Great presentation.

I liked the in-depth discussion of each question. It was very helpful in understanding the reasoning.

It was helpful to explore some of the ethical issues that come up in modern practice. The example involving the hacker and misdirected funds was particularly interesting.

Very knowledgable speaker.
