Communication Law: Broadband Legislation and the One Touch/Make Ready Ordinance

Description:

In this session, Brad Lampley will give an overview of the friction between rural/government-owned utilities and private carriers regarding rural broadband access. He will discuss the background of the issue, the main players, the epicenter of the issue, and details of the legislation. Next, Will Helou will give an overview of the One Touch Make Ready Ordinance passed by Metro Council in 2016. He will also discuss the litigation issues brought on by AT&T and Comcast.

It is disappointing to see the effect of money on the 21st century's base form of communication and connection to the world. As for the presentation and presenters, this is an enjoyable and informative CLE from both presenters.
