You've Been Hacked! Part 2

The Lawyer’s Ethical Obligation to Safeguard Client Information
Description:

Many law firms have been slow to respond to cyber threats, often because they don't understand the who, what, why and how of these threats. This course -- the second in a series -- goes beyond the nature of the threat and dives deep into the lawyer's ethical responsibility in this area.

The threat to the legal community from cyber hackers dates back to early 2009, when the FBI began to warn the legal community that law firms were and would continue to be "high-value" targets for cyberattacks. Since that time the ABA has amended its model rules to address this new normal, and rules in Tennessee and other states have also evolved. This course examines that evolution and offers suggestions of what lawyers can do to abide by the ethical rules and avoid expensive, embarrassing security breaches.

Great class. Could be a bit longer.

I found this presentation to provide valuable insight into risks associated with cyber attacks and my ethical obligations to prevent those attacks.

The course material was helpful. I wish that it contained even more information!
