Tax Law

How New Tax Laws Impact Lawyers

Description:

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act contained multiple tax cuts, particularly for corporate and pass-through entities, which may benefit lawyers. This presentation will review the impact of the new tax laws on lawyers who operate as a sole practitioner, partnership, limited liability company or corporation. For some, a change in organizational structure may be the best way to take advantage of the new legislation.

Thanks for the timely presentation.

Very timely information for attorneys that practice tax law and in general.

Timely and well done. One minor quibble: I remained a bit unclear on whether the pass through QBI for professionals applied to all income below the thresholds if the taxpayer/business owner earned above the thresholds, but I think I determined the answer reviewing the materials.

An excellent presentation for a non-tax lawyer. Will help greatly with client questions.

This stuff is hard.

One hour was too little to try and cover the material presented. Advertisement for course seemed to indicate that more time would be devoted to QBI issues, and that would have been more beneficial.

Excellent presentation.

These tax law changes are some of the more significant ones passed in quite some time, and I appreciated the presenters insight into them.

It was helpful to hear about changes to permitted deductions.

Brad Sagraves did a great job!
