Real Estate Essentials: The Ins and Outs of Titles

Description:

Learn how to avoid pitfalls as we look at all the players in a real estate transaction and review the ins and outs of real estate titles and contracts. Key players include heirs, upstream and downstream water users, taxing authorities, easement holders and due diligence parties. Our session on titles will cover definitions, conducting a title search, establishing a chain of title and other factors such as drug seizure laws, mortgage foreclosures, taxes and probate. You will learn about the common terms to be used in contracts to cover payment, closing costs, inspections, defaults, remedies and counteroffers.
