Legal counsel should be familiar with both the applicable law and the organizational documents and contracts before undertaking representation. In this program, Professor Joan Heminway will give you the nuts and bolts of Corporate Governance. First, she will discuss a lawyer's duty to provide competent representation. Then, she will discuss the reasonable steps that lawyers are expected to take in order to understand how technology may affect their legal representation.

Data security is very important and dealing with such issues is complicated, ethical issues, breach notification issues, reputational risk.

Excellent presentation on what is a complicated area of the law. Ms. Heminway provided valuable insights.
