Tennessee FastTrack Nashville 2020: Criminal Justice Reform

Description:

In 2017 Judge Kevin Sharp stepped down from the federal bench. Since that time, he has been pursuing criminal justice reform with various organizations and individuals, including Kim Kardashian and Van Jones. Through the story of his representation of Leonard Peltier, a Native American who has spent more than 16,000 days in prison for a crime he did not commit, this presentation focuses on why reform is necessary and what we as lawyers can do to help.

I was FLOORED by this program! The degree of misconduct at the highest levels has left me despairing that there can ever be certainty that justice is done in the criminal system.
