Conservatorships in Tennessee: Handling a Pro Bono Referral

Description:

Parents with children with disabilities have an enormous responsibility. Once the child reaches the age of majority, many of the children will require a conservatorship to enable their parents to continue making decisions for the adult child. This CLE is a complete training for lawyers to learn how to provide representation in simple conservatorship actions. This training is an overview of the types of cases taken in this pro bono conservatorship process, the law, the steps to file the petition and court proceeding.

Templates are also provided in the training materials. The Public Education Committee partnered with Nelson Mullins, the Legal Aid Society of Middle TN and the Cumberlands and the Association of Corporate Counsels to provide this training in February 2020.
