Litigation Law Ethics 2021: Legal Aid and the Importance of Access to Justice

This session will provide a rundown of lawyer ethical responsibilities related to pro bono/access to justice while discussing the history and structure of the national Legal Services Corporation and grantee legal aid organizations, especially those in TN. Attendees will have to opportunity to learn more about the increasing need for legal aid and assistance with access to justice, especially during this pandemic with evictions, scams, etc. rising to crisis level proportions.

This was an eye-opening presentation. There is a crisis in legal service for the disadvantaged. I did not know that lawyers were to aspire to 50 hours of pro bono credits AND to provide donations to help legal services. That certainly makes sense.
