The presentation will review lessons learned from three decades of work in Latin America and the Caribbean as an attorney, Executive Director for the United States at the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), and as Representative for the IDB in Mexico. Challenges that are frequently encountered such as corruption, security, and cultural differences among countries will be discussed. Issues related to investment and sources of funding for projects will be discussed along with a brief review of international finance organizations and bi-lateral agencies serving the region.
