This presentation will discuss the intersection of criminal law and family law. The panelists will discuss: (1) orders of protection and parallel domestic violence prosecution of criminal charges; (2) new legislation addressing child support awards against drivers that kill the supporting parent of surviving minor child, as well as (3) dependent and neglect actions being parallel to the criminal prosecution of child abuse and the witness rules for minor children in each case.
