Disability Law Annual Forum 2024: Employing AI into the Disability Determination Process - Legal & Ethical Considerations

Description:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an invisible thread woven throughout our lives. Government agencies are now employing AI systems in the disability determination process in an effort to maximize the quality, speed, and consistency of processing applications, conducting evaluations, and job placement. Legal and ethical considerations of using AI to determine one's disability along with challenges and opportunities will be discussed. Addressing these considerations requires a collaborative effort for all stakeholders to ensure that AI systems meet legal compliance and are ethically sound.
