The CLE Performer, Stuart Teicher, tells true stories about lawyers who break the law and the ethics rules they break (or could have broken). Today’s episode is about a judge who harassed his staff, played favorites with lawyers, and conducted himself in a professionally questionable manner. Ethics topics will include:
- The connection between competence (Rule 1.1), Withdrawal (Rule 1.16), and mental health issues
- How sexual harassment creates problems with Rule 8.4(d) and 8.4(g)
- The duty to report lawyer and judicial misconduct Rule 8.3(b)
- How the rule on Supervision (Rule 5.1) guides lawyers in creating an ethically positive office environment

I enjoyed the format, the storytelling lent itself to breaks to learn about specific rules. Entertaining speaker!

Good review. Only wish the Judge Kent would have had some stiffer penalties for his behavior!
