From Boardroom to LinkedIn: Speaking Skills for Attorneys

Description:

For attorneys, presentation skills are a core leadership skill. The ability to speak in a manner that’s both authentic and intentional is essential in today’s professional environment.

Designed specifically for attorneys, this workshop provided actionable techniques to sharpen your message, engage your audience and speak with confidence. The skills apply to a range of formal and informal situations, including presentations to boards and senior leadership, speaking at a conference, leading meetings, or recording videos for LinkedIn.

Led by Mimi Bliss, an experienced TV reporter and CLE leader, this workshop focuses on how to:

  • Use language that’s authoritative and approachable
  • Speak with confidence, including voice, pause, eye contact and gestures
  • Simplify the complex with examples, not explanations
  • Make a concise recommendation to senior leadership, clients and decisionmakers
  • Engage your audience when speaking on stage or in front of the room
  • Speak comfortably in virtual meetings and recorded videos
