Franchise law is a subset of the body of law generally classified as "trade regulation." The practice of franchise law encompasses a number of areas of substantive law, including trademark law, trade secret law, contract law, corporate law, regulatory law, administrative law, business transactional law, collections, anti-trust, commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. This session will discuss the background and history of franchise regulation, the current FTC Rule disclosure requirements, state registration requirements, the UFOC format, and specific Tennessee Laws.
