Great. thanks!

I have served as a GAL in the past so this was a great update/refresher!

This was a good session, though I have a couple critiques.I felt the presenter spent too much time talking about building trust with the child. I would have liked to have heard much more about the process. Overall the information was new to me and all very useful.

I am new to the practice of law. I started taking GAL appointments as soon as I started practicing in October 2015. I've always been confused as to the length of appointment in both DCS cases and private cases. This clarified how long I remain in the case. Also, I now have more insight as to the legal steps I can take when I feel that DCS is not taking an active role. I would like to see a presentation on just the GAL role with DCS. For instance, I would like more information on proceeding with removals without DCS.

Good primer if you're new to the GAL role, some affirmation/reassurance and a few pointers for those of us who've been reinventing the wheel for a while.

The appropriate rules applying to GAL, the process for obtaining necessary records, filing motions and representing your client in court proceedings and practice tips on working with other parties related to the case.

Very good presentation. I would suggest that although the power-point was a good summary access to the typed presentation would be more helpful. The presenter had an excellent program, one that i'd like to keep in my resource file.
