Airbnb is an online marketplace and hospitality service for people to lease or rent short-term lodging. Some cities have laws that restrict your ability to host paying guests for short periods. Local governments vary greatly in how they enforce these laws. Former Knox County Attorney Joe Jarret will discuss legal issues with Airbnb and review the city of Knoxville’s approach to short- term rentals. Cate Pham, attorney for the metropolitan government will discuss permits of short-term rentals in Nashville.
