In this presentation the speaker will discuss Disability Law in the Sixth Circuit. The speaker is Judge Jane Stranch U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. First, the speaker will go over the governing process for SSDI claims. SSA regulations lay out a five–step process. Failure to follow all steps, even in simple cases, can result in remand. Next the judge will go over commonly litigated steps in the process. These include Medical equivalence, Residual functional capacity, and the ability to adjust vocational expert testimony. Then the judge will talk about the relationships between lawyers and ALJs in the process.

Thank you so much for this course and this presenter; Judge Stranch is amazing and has such an understanding of the disability process and also compassion for people who are living with disabilities. I am extremely impressed with her. I handle SSA federal appeals and have benefitted very much from this course. M. Starr
